The students will participate in all those competitions that are genuine and add to the growth and development of the personality. Winning a prize will never be the criteria. What is important is that the body that is conducting the competition is reputed and respected nationally.

Students performing below the desired level are identified in a well-defined and scientific manner and only one teacher impression is never the criteria.

Special intervention programmes are followed for these identified students and a regular record of their performance is maintained.

Head of Campus monitors the remedial programmes being followed by all the teachers at respective campuses.

Parents’ Education programme is an integral part of our education programme. In addition to the Students’ Diary there is a Parents’ Manual in each campus. Besides, interactive meetings are conducted on two occasions, one when there is a specific need and second a general body of parents for some special communication or brain storming.

The Correspondent Communique is sent parents to keep them abreast of the developments and programmes.

The expenditure on transport is shared by parents. As soon as there are more number of students coming from a specific route, a new bus could be introduced to save not only expenditure but also time. So parents should co-operate with the management for getting as many students as possible.

No institution can run effectively without timely action. We try our best to provide all that is required for good education and we expect the parents to understand and appreciate that prompt payments help us to carry out educational and other well being programmes and activities in time and in good faith.

School Diary is carried by the student every day to the school. The size has been fixed keeping in mind the weight. Besides the number of pages will change only when there is need for more. All the necessary information is available and the pages to be used for writing are sufficient. However, if there is a need the size will be increased.

Homework is an extended classroom activity. Normally at the end of a unit some homework is assigned. It is made sure that the home work aims to complement or supplement the work done in the class. Generally it is planned with the lessons and the students are not pressurized with a heavy load. Projects and assignments are learning methodologies and should not be confused with homework.

Field trips and educational tours are a regular academic activity. But it does not necessarily mean travelling a long distance or reduce its importance to only a pleasure trip without any learning. Whenever there is a need the students are taken to places of educational interest.

We request the parents to co-operate with the school in developing this skill among the students. We work on developing life skills. Many related skills are taught through school events – science learning environment – playground – visualization – value education. We do not separate personality development as a subject. It is taught throughout the academic instruction alongside – with strong focus.

Students are provided with a clean environment in the school. Even for taking their lunch a special place is provided. Toilets, drinking water, play areas, classrooms, surroundings – all areas are kept scrupulously clean and well maintained.

Each campus conduct School Health Camp. All the students and parents are involved to raise awareness about health needs of students. Parents are welcome to contribute to this activity. Effort is made to keep the health check costs to the minimum.

We do not serve lunch. We want children to bring lunch from home. Lunch brought from home has a family touch. It is prepared in better and hygienic conditions using less and good oil, less and unadulterated spices, better cooking procedures etc. It also nurtures sharing different foods with different cultural values. This provides opportunity to the students to discuss their food and all the related matters thus bringing about appreciation of a variety of cultures of our country.

Lotus National School believes in keeping the school and the environment safe and secure to allow children to look forward to being in an encouraging environment.

Creating a child friendly environment is necessary to promote social and creative learning. When children feel secure and safe in a nurturing environment, it helps them to explore, learn and grow.

Applied Learning is an approach that emphasizes the relevance of what is being learnt in the class with the real world situations improving students’ motivation and commitment.

It help students make connection between what they learn in school and how that knowledge is used for real purpose both in school and out of school. A flexible combination of Applied learning with core subjects, elective subjects and other learning experiences helps provide students with holistic learning.

LNS believes in adopting various modes of learning to make students self directed and life long learners. Deep learning is a self learning strategy where learners adopt an academic mind set to be a lifelong learners. It allows students to apply what is learnt from one situation to another. When engaged in deeper learning students think critically, communicate and work with others effectively across all subjects.

Goal setting is given a lot of importance because it gives a sense of purpose of life that can build confidence and self esteem. Planning to set goals from a very young age will ensure that students achieve smaller goals on a regular basis.
