We have put together the FAQs asked by the Community around our LNS campuses. These FAQs act as a guide for the campuses to answer the questions posed by the parents
Lotus Learning Systems Society lay down the policy relating to all matters regarding the admission and fee structure, the academic programmes, procurement of materials, the infrastructure and human resource for the chain of Lotus National Schools.
The Correspondent is entrusted with the responsibility of appointing qualified and good quality staff including the head of campus, training and providing opportunities and resources to grow professionally.
The Head of the Campus shoulders the total responsibility of running an individual campus.
Only qualified and experienced teachers are appointed. LLSS has drafted a well planned and focussed programme of teacher training to update them on the latest developments and research in education. This programme is an in-service training programme.
Students are exposed to educational technology devices right from class I. A well defined syllabus is followed on the lines prescribed by CBSE.
All aspects of education–material, academic and administrative are attended to on equal terms. The infrastructure and the atmosphere is congenial. The fee structure is affordable, academic programmes are taken up to extend beyond the prescribed textbooks and syllabus. Teaching methods and approach to learning/teaching is child centered. Professional enhancement programmes for teachers and heads of campuses are taken up regularly. A continuous interaction between the HO and various campuses on regular basis and parent education programmes are some of the salient features of LNS.
CBSE is a national board and has come to stay as a leading institution for conducting prestigious entrance examinations for professional courses in our country like AIEEE, PMT and Dental Courses. Besides, most of the other professional and national level entrance tests are conducted based on the curriculum and the pattern of examination for classes IX to XII like IIT, NDA, CDS and other Defense and Civil Services Examinations. CBSE also enjoys an enviable reputation with universities abroad. It is one of the most modern and progressive boards experimenting with international trends in education without sacrificing Indian needs and values. 60% of the IIT intake comes from CBSE whereas it is only 10% from ICSE, 28% from all the State Boards and 2% from other schools.
CBSE Schools are in operation in Singapore, Russia, Africa Middle East and other countries.
NEP 2019 has introduced a new developmentally appropriate curriculum and pedagogical structure for school education guided by 5+3+3+4 design. This restructuring of school education is aimed at providing relevant developmental needs and interests of the learners at different stages. The Foundation Stage will comprise of five years of education (Nursery, LKG, UKG, I & II)
The Preparatory Sage will comprise of three tears of education (III, IV, V)
The Middle Stage will comprise of three years of education (VI, VII, VIII)
The Secondary Education will comprise of four years of education ( IX, X, XI, XII)
English is the global medium of instruction, language of communicaion, business transactions etc.
Specially designed educational programmes like Reading, Writing, Creative Writing, Project work, Research programmes, encouraging self learning, development of presentation skills etc. are some of the academic programmes. Besides a lot many co-curricular activities are organized which provide a platform for students to expose their latent talents in public.
Realding Cornension Assessment is the measuring of the reading skills of a learner. Reading comprehension refers to a learner’s ability to not only read but also to comprehend the text that is read. Reading Comprehension Assessment of a learner helps a teacher to record any mistake of a learner, analyze them to determine further instructions to be provided.
The focus of Lotus National School has always been to improve student learning outcomes. Lotus National Schools continuously improvises on teaching pedagogy to maximize Student Learning outcomes The aim is to make students self directed and lifelong learners and prepare them for a better future.
The innovative teaching and learning programs introduced by LNS mainly focus on improving feeder quality stage wise by enhancing student achievement.
Student achievement can be improved by consolidation of learning at each schooling stage by increasing student achievement from 35% to 50%.
There are two kinds of library facilities. 1. School library 2. Class library. Some of the schools which have fully developed buildings have these facilities.
The students will participate in all those competitions that are genuine and add to the growth and development of the personality. Winning a prize will never be the criteria. What is important is that the body that is conducting the competition is reputed and respected nationally.
Students performing below the desired level are identified in a well-defined and scientific manner and only one teacher impression is never the criteria.
Special intervention programmes are followed for these identified students and a regular record of their performance is maintained.
Head of Campus monitors the remedial programmes being followed by all the teachers at respective campuses.
Parents’ Education programme is an integral part of our education programme. In addition to the Students’ Diary there is a Parents’ Manual in each campus. Besides, interactive meetings are conducted on two occasions, one when there is a specific need and second a general body of parents for some special communication or brain storming.
The Correspondent Communique is sent parents to keep them abreast of the developments and programmes.
The expenditure on transport is shared by parents. As soon as there are more number of students coming from a specific route, a new bus could be introduced to save not only expenditure but also time. So parents should co-operate with the management for getting as many students as possible.
No institution can run effectively without timely action. We try our best to provide all that is required for good education and we expect the parents to understand and appreciate that prompt payments help us to carry out educational and other well being programmes and activities in time and in good faith.
School Diary is carried by the student every day to the school. The size has been fixed keeping in mind the weight. Besides the number of pages will change only when there is need for more. All the necessary information is available and the pages to be used for writing are sufficient. However, if there is a need the size will be increased.
Homework is an extended classroom activity. Normally at the end of a unit some homework is assigned. It is made sure that the home work aims to complement or supplement the work done in the class. Generally it is planned with the lessons and the students are not pressurized with a heavy load. Projects and assignments are learning methodologies and should not be confused with homework.
Field trips and educational tours are a regular academic activity. But it does not necessarily mean travelling a long distance or reduce its importance to only a pleasure trip without any learning. Whenever there is a need the students are taken to places of educational interest.
It is upto class X. +2 Courses in Skill Education under the brand name EKSAQ will commence in LNS Hyderguda.
Education Knowledge Skills Aptitude, Attitude and Abilities for Qualifications (EKSAQ) is an employment oriented senior secondary education involving, in addition to general education, acquisition of practical skills, attitudes and values, understanding and knowledge relating to occupation in various sectors.
It is a method of bringing all the industry or sector related skill subjects under one umbrella for the sake of convenience and all the subjects are bunched under four categories
The infused labs are spacious, well ventilated and provide opportunities for students to learn the concepts well and hone skills.
The benefits of integrated labs are to keep students engaged which helps in better learning and longer retention. Students can experience the process in all skill subject content completely and develop better attitude in the course of study.
Creating laboratories that can accommodate a wide range of practical lessons across all disciplines is central to improving and expanding students’ understanding of the subjects.
Competition is growing tough day by day. It is equally important to teach children to be co-operative. In the LNS they are trained to work together in group activities. We request the parents to co-operate with the school in developing this skill among the students. We work on developing life skills. Many related skills are taught through school events – science learning environment – playground – visualization – value education. We do not separate personality development as a subject. It is taught throughout the academic instruction alongside – with strong focus.
Students are provided with a clean environment in the school. Even for taking their lunch a special place is provided. Toilets, drinking water, play areas, classrooms, surroundings – all areas are kept scrupulously clean and well maintained.
Each campus conduct School Health Camp. All the students and parents are involved to raise awareness about health needs of students. Parents are welcome to contribute to this activity. Effort is made to keep the health check costs to the minimum.
(1) A good school has trained teachers and should have on going teacher training program.
(2) A good school focuses on learning process and test results.
(3) A good school has a spacious building and good facilities.
We do not serve lunch. We want children to bring lunch from home. Lunch brought from home has a family touch. It is prepared in better and hygienic conditions using less and good oil, less and unadulterated spices, better cooking procedures etc. It also nurtures sharing different foods with different cultural values. This provides opportunity to the students to discuss their food and all the related matters thus bringing about appreciation of a variety of cultures of our country.
Lotus National School believes in keeping the school and the environment safe and secure to allow children to look forward to being in an encouraging environment.
Creating a child friendly environment is necessary to promote social and creative learning. When children feel secure and safe in a nurturing environment, it helps them to explore, learn and grow.
Lotus National School has implemented the STEAM curriculum to improve competitiveness in development of science and technology and motivate the learners towards experiential learning. STEAM is a pedagogical approach that trains the students in 5 disciplines such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. The Art element could help students improve the design, appearance, and usability of a product created, thus generating more creative and innovative thinking.
Applied Learning is an approach that emphasizes the relevance of what is being learnt in the class with the real world situations improving students’ motivation and commitment.
It help students make connection between what they learn in school and how that knowledge is used for real purpose both in school and out of school. A flexible combination of Applied learning with core subjects, elective subjects and other learning experiences helps provide students with holistic learning.
LNS believes in adopting various modes of learning to make students self directed and life long learners. Deep learning is a self learning strategy where learners adopt an academic mind set to be a lifelong learners. It allows students to apply what is learnt from one situation to another. When engaged in deeper learning students think critically, communicate and work with others effectively across all subjects.
Goal setting is given a lot of importance because it gives a sense of purpose of life that can build confidence and self esteem. Planning to set goals from a very young age will ensure that students achieve smaller goals on a regular basis.
